Self-Titled

Read the Printed Word!

Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.

oddmoments:

My teacher printed this out and gave a copy to everyone in the class, in preparation for finals month, and life in general. I found it so beautiful that I want to keep it with me always. I think this advice is really important. It’s titled Desiderata, which is Latin for “desired things.”

elisabethpfeffer:

The more you know about the world, how it works, how we came about, life begins to seem more and more meaningless. So, to the philosophers and poets out there, how do we create a reality for ourselves that enables us to carry on and feel meaningful and significant?

Once we realize that we have come to this Earth for self-growth, and self-transcendence; we must find that which nurtures us internally, while giving back to the world externally. What is that that you love to do, that allows others to love what they do? How can we make this world a better, more loving and consciously aware place? Did we truly connect with others, or suffer the pains of separation? When our time has come, it’s not only about whether we ourselves have lived a life of meaning, but if we have given a meaning to life itself.
